With a new Ford, confidence comes standard in the form of excellent warranty coverage, which protects your investment for years and miles to come and helps save you money along the way. Got questions about warranty coverage offered with your next new Ford? Shults Ford Wexford has the answers you need.
What is a New Vehicle Limited Warranty?
Every new Ford vehicle from the Mustang to the Super Duty comes with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Valid for three years or 36,000 miles, this bumper-to-bumper warranty offers the peace of mind that comes with knowing youāre protected if thereās a defective part that needs to be replaced.[1]
Does my warranty cover oil changes?
No. A New Vehicle Limited Warranty doesnāt cover parts and labor related to regular maintenance or normal wear and tear. You can, however, opt for a Ford Protect Extended Service Plan or Ford Protect Premium Maintenance Plan. Or, if you shop at Shults Ford Wexford in Pittsburgh, you can take advantage of our Driver Plus plan or First Extended service plan. These options help cover your maintenance needs and can be built into the price of your vehicle when you lease or finance.
Are there other kinds of Ford warranty coverage?
Yes! Not only does every vehicle include a New Vehicle Limited Warranty, but youāll get additional coverage depending on the vehicle in question. Vehicles with a traditional gas engine get a five-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Warranty, and hybrid or electric vehicles like the Escape Plug-In Hybrid or Mustang Mach-E come with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty. Ford vehicles also carry a five-year corrosion warranty with unlimited mileage.
Can my warranty be canceled?
As long as you take care of your vehicle and stay up to date on service, your warranty should carry to the end of its term or mileage. But Ford can cancel a warranty on vehicles that have excessive non-warrantable conditions or if you donāt have necessary repairs done. If your warranty is canceled, itās possible to have it reinstated so long as you make the necessary repairs at your own expense.
Is a Ford warranty transferable?
If there is time or mileage left under the original warranty coverage, it can be transferred to a subsequent owner. So if you decide that youād like to sell your Bronco Sport or Expedition to someone and upgrade to a newer ride, you can pass that peace of mind to the new owner.
How do I know if my vehicle is under warranty?
If youāre not sure about the warranty status of your vehicle, you have several resources that can clear things up. You can sign into the Ford Owner portal on your computer, enter your Vehicle Identification Number at the Ford Support website, or log in to the FordPassĀ® App.
Does my warranty cover damage from potholes or road hazards?
Damage to your tires, windshield, or body caused by potholes and other road hazards doesnāt fall under standard warranty coverage. But you can add an extra layer of protection with the help of Shults Ford Wexford and the Three for One Road Hazard Protection Plan. This add-on covers tire and wheel repair, chips and cracks in your windshield, and dentless paint repair. And thereās no mileage restriction or deductible.
